Plantar Fasciitis

Plantar fasciitis is characterized by inflammation of the plantar fascia—a thick tissue connecting the heel bone to the toes along the bottom of the foot. This essential tissue absorbs shock in the foot’s arch, but tension can cause tearing, resulting in inflammation and throbbing pain, especially in or near the heel.

Did You Know?

Athletes, particularly runners and those engaging in running or jumping sports are prone to developing plantar fasciitis. Additional risk factors include being overweight or wearing shoes lacking proper foot support.
